I got that game about a year before Super Smash Brothers Brawl came out, I remember. I beat it about a month before Lucas was revealed as a playable character, that was a fun morning.

Mother 3 was the only game where I wanted to invest time into actually reading a translated script simultaneously, which took a while. For every bit of dialogue I consulted the script, in retrospect that seems insane. 

It was probably the first video game to make me cry… except maybe Megaman Battle Network but that was out of frustration at the Protoman battle. I was really young.
